4. AI Model Usage and Data Processing
AskFritz uses Claude 4.5 Sonnet from Anthropic as its foundational Large Language Model (LLM) to power the AI dialogue and guide your dream exploration sessions.
What data is sent to Claude:
- ✓Session dialogue only: Your conversations with Fritz during active chat sessions are processed by Claude to generate responses
- ✓Message history from your current session (up to the last 7 messages) to maintain conversation context
What is NOT shared with Claude:
- ✗Dream Journal entries: Your private dream journal descriptions remain completely private and are never sent to any AI model
- ✗Personal identifying information (name, email, location) - these are never included in AI processing
- ✗Archived session data from previous conversations
Data Security and Privacy:
- 🔒Encrypted transmission: All data sent to Claude is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS/SSL encryption
- 🔒No third-party sharing: Your conversation data is not shared with any third parties beyond what is necessary for Claude to generate responses
- 🔒Not used for AI training: Your data is not used to train Anthropic's public models or shared with other users
- 🔒Encrypted at rest: All your data (sessions, journal entries, messages) is encrypted when stored in our secure databases
By using AskFritz, you consent to the processing of your session dialogue by Claude 4.5 Sonnet for the purpose of generating personalized responses. You maintain full ownership of all your content.
5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Article 6)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process your personal data based on the following legal grounds:
- •Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): When you accept our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy, you consent to the processing of your session dialogue by the AI model and to receiving newsletters
- •Contractual Necessity (Art. 6(1)(b)): Processing your account information and session data is necessary to provide you with the AskFritz dream exploration service
- •Legitimate Interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): We process anonymised analytics data to improve our service, ensure platform security, and detect crisis situations for user safety
Where we rely on consent, you have the right to withdraw it at any time by contacting us or deleting your account. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
6. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
AskFritz uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience and analyse how the service is used.
Essential Cookies
Required for authentication, session management, and core functionality. These cannot be disabled as the service will not function without them.
Analytics Cookies

7. Third-Party Services & Sub-Processors
To provide and improve the AskFritz service, we share limited data with the following third-party service providers (sub-processors):

Each sub-processor is contractually obligated to protect your data and process it only for the purposes described above.
8. International Data Transfers
Some of our third-party service providers are based outside the European Economic Area (EEA). When your data is transferred outside the EEA, we ensure adequate safeguards are in place:
- •Anthropic (United States): Session dialogue sent to Claude is subject to Anthropic's data processing agreement and appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as approved by the European Commission
- •Google (United States): Google Analytics data transfers are governed by Google's data processing terms and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework
We continuously assess these safeguards to ensure they meet the requirements of GDPR Chapter V regarding international data transfers.
9. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy:
- •Account data: Retained for as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account closure.
- •Active session data: Retained while the session is active. Archived sessions are kept until you delete them or close your account.
- •Dream journal entries: Retained until you delete them individually or close your account.
- •Analytics data: Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be linked back to you.
- •Crisis event logs: Retained for safety and compliance purposes. Anonymised after 12 months.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. Your dream content and conversations are encrypted and stored securely.

AskFritz is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. 14. Governing Law
